How contracting works · With no upfront investment or as a purchase

Two ways to contract, and in both you never pay more than you would have paid without the system.

With shared savings you invest nothing, you keep a share of the savings and, if there are no savings, you pay nothing. If you buy the system, you pay its price and, each month, only the operation and maintenance (O&M) fee. Either way, ENEGRIN designs, installs and operates your BESS (energy storage) or your cogeneration plant, and measures the savings.

How are the savings split with BESS?

Without the system

Electricity bill

With the system

Under shared savings, ENEGRIN’s share pays for the system over the contract term. That is why your share is smaller.

No debt, no committed credit lines

The no-investment model is not a loan or a fixed monthly payment: you take on no debt, post no financial guarantees, and your credit lines remain available for your operations. Under the shared-savings contract, your only obligation is to pay out of savings the system has already generated. Those savings are measured every month with the same formulas and tariffs as your bill, and the contract guarantees in writing that you never pay more than you would have paid without the system.

Frequently asked questions

Is shared savings a debt?

No. There is no loan, no fixed payment and no financial guarantees: your only commitment is paid out of the savings the system generates.

The exact contractual terms come with your proposal.

What happens if savings come in lower than expected in a given month?

You pay less.

With BESS, everything you pay ENEGRIN each month is a percentage of measured savings.

How is it billed?

With BESS, each month we bill you on the exact savings calculated on the Ollin Platform.

With cogeneration, we bill you for the energy delivered.

What if rates go down?

With CFE (Mexico’s state-owned utility), qualified supply or another private-supply scheme, savings are always calculated with the tariff in effect that month.

The guarantee is the same in every case: you never pay more than you would have paid without the system.

How do you know what I would have paid without the system?

With two meters and the formulas of your tariff for that month.

Both figures are calculated the same way, VAT included, so the comparison is like for like. The full method is delivered in writing to your auditor or finance team when you sign. See how we measure · Download the executive summary

What happens if my plant closes, is sold or relocates?

With a BESS, the system is relocated: it is integrated in a cabinet or container and installed at another plant.

With cogeneration, the contract covers this from day one. If the plant is sold, the contract can be assigned to the new owner. If it closes or you decide to end early, a settlement agreed at signing applies. The exact terms come with your proposal.

Can I buy the system before the contract ends?

Yes, whenever you want.

The purchase option is part of every proposal.

Who handles the filings with CFE and the CNE?

ENEGRIN, under both options.

The CNE is Mexico’s National Energy Commission.

What happens when the contract ends?

Under shared savings, you choose: buy the system, renew the service or end it.

Under a purchase, the O&M contract can be extended.

What warranty and insurance does the system have?

Under shared savings, ENEGRIN is responsible for the system and insures it.

Maintenance, repairs and component replacement are included: you pay nothing extra for the system. If you buy the system, the warranty on each component and ENEGRIN’s service are defined in the proposal.

Why can ENEGRIN install and operate the system without any investment from me?

Because the system pays for itself out of the savings.

And we can commit to that result because we run the system with Ollin EMS and measure the savings every month.

Who stands behind such a long contract?

The Córdova Group, with industrial engineering since 1987, and our international group stand behind every ENEGRIN contract.
