Three BESS cabinets in an industrial yard

Solution · BESS · Energy storage for industry

A BESS that calculates every charge on your bill

That is how it generates the maximum savings Mexican tariffs allow.

ENEGRIN designs, installs and operates BESS (energy storage systems) at industrial plants in Mexico. Under shared savings you get yours with no investment and receive part of the savings. If you buy it, you keep all the savings.

At peak, the plant draws energy from the BESS and the demand CFE records drops. This is called peak shaving.

You never pay more than you would have paid without the system

It always applies, even if you buy it, and it is written into the contract. Under the no-investment model you take on no debt and your credit lines remain available. Your only obligation is to pay out of savings the system has already generated. See both payment models

Fully integrated in a cabinet or container, ready to connect

And if your plant changes, the system can be relocated.

The system monitors the grid

If it detects an outage, a severe voltage deviation or a phase failure, it disconnects from the grid and powers your plant.

A BESS can be sized to back up your whole plant or only part of it.

Frequently asked questions

How much does a BESS save a factory on the GDMTH tariff?

Measured savings on the CFE bill are 27–37%.

That is what has been measured in ENEGRIN projects operating in Mexico, totaling more than 1 MWh, and it varies with the season and the consumption pattern. You can see your plant’s figure in the Ollin Simulator with your plant’s consumption data and, once the system is installed, two meters measure it every month.

Do I have to invest?

No. Under the shared-savings model, the system pays for itself out of the savings.

ENEGRIN installs, operates and maintains the system. You can also buy it at the outset or later on. How savings are split under each model

Will installation stop my plant?

No. The work is done without interfering with your operation.

Only the final connection requires a brief outage, scheduled with you and your maintenance team.

Does the BESS keep the plant running during a power outage?

Yes. The system takes the load with automatic transfer.

A BESS can be sized to back up your whole plant or only part of it. Typical autonomy is 2 hours at full discharge, and it is set when the system is sized.

Do I need a CNE permit to install a BESS behind the meter?

No, provided the energy is used only in your plant, without being injected into or sold to the grid.

The storage provisions of the CNE, Mexico’s National Energy Commission (DOF, Mexico’s Official Gazette, April 16, 2026), treat that system as part of your facilities. You do need two things. First, a technical study filed with CENACE, Mexico’s grid operator, because the BESS modifies your load center (the legal term for a site that receives power from the grid). Second, compliance with the Grid Code, NOM-001-SEDE-2012 and the technical standards in the provisions. ENEGRIN handles all of it. The system we install is certified to IEC 62619 and IEC 62933-5-2, standards listed in those provisions. Full permit guide

Is a BESS safe next to my plant?

Yes. The cells are certified to IEC 62619 and the system is tested per UL 9540A.

The enclosure includes automatic fire suppression and temperature control, ENEGRIN monitors it continuously and, under the no-investment model, ENEGRIN carries the insurance.

How do I know the savings reported to me are real?

Because we measure them with two meters.

One in parallel with CFE’s meter and another on the BESS side, which measures what we deliver to you. Both are certified class 0.1S meters (IEC 62053-22), more accurate than CFE’s meters. We apply your tariff’s formulas to both. We forecast your bill before it arrives and reconcile it against the actual bill, with a 99.98% average match. You see that reconciliation on the Ollin Platform every month. Any external auditor can reproduce the calculation. How to compare BESS proposals

Calculate instantly how much you would save with a BESS

Enter your plant’s consumption data or, if you prefer, upload your CFE bill. The Ollin Simulator tells you right away how much you would save and which system we recommend. To use it, create your Ollin Platform account with your company email.
