1. The 2026 provisions: the BESS is part of your facility
Industrial batteries (BESS) tied to your load center, the legal term for a site that receives power from the grid, are treated as part of your facilities. The BESS does not require a storage permit, as long as the energy is used only at your plant, without injecting it into or selling it to the grid.
The provisions call this model SAEE-CC: a storage system associated with a load center, sharing the same connection point as your plant. A CNE storage permit is required for systems of 0.7 MW or more that are not associated with a power plant or a load center, and for systems that take part in the Wholesale Electricity Market (Article 193 of the Electricity Sector Law Regulations, cited in the provisions).
2. What is required?
- The technical study with CENACE (Mexico’s grid operator) for the modification of your load center.
- Compliance with the Grid Code, NOM-001-SEDE-2012 and the technical standards the provisions require.
3. ENEGRIN’s system meets IEC 62619 and IEC 62933-5-2
The system we install is certified to IEC 62619 and IEC 62933-5-2, standards listed in those provisions.
4. Who handles the filings?
ENEGRIN handles them as part of the project.

Use the Ollin Simulator to estimate what a BESS would save your plant.
The simulator asks you to create an account with your company email. Actual savings are measured every month once the system is running at your plant.
